This commission consisted in the rehabilitation and conversion of one of the largest movie theatres in Madrid (Kinepolis) into a “playground” or a game room for kids. This is a typological rarity in the phenomena of rehabilitation of commercial and leisure spaces. The proposal uses the existence of a starting point, a great indoor space of unusual proportions, and the “natural” slope of the seating area, to play with the ambiguity of an indoor space that is dressed in a scenery of a great abstract forest of tensioned fabric. These trees that are up to 12 meters high rest over a slope that has been terraced in circles to accommodate the different parts of the play program and that are a projection of the circles of their own “canopies”.
